BSE Sensex ended at 16,863 down 370.68 points or -2.15% from the last close. It earlier touched a day's high of 17,138 and day’s low of 16,828.  NSE NIFTY closed at 5,087 down 117.40 points. The index hit an intra-day high of 5,166 and an intra-day low of 5,076.

The BSE Mid-Cap index lost 1.96% while the BSE Small-Cap index was down 1.82%.CNX MIDCAP 50 index lost 2.57% and S&P CNX 500 was down 2.19%.
